ArtPrize 2026 Went Out in Grand Rapids Style

Art, couture, ballet, symphony, and one huge celebration at Acrisure Amphitheater closed out another unforgettable ArtPrize season in West Michigan.

For 17 days, Grand Rapids became a gallery.
Then ArtPrize 2026 went out with a finale worthy of the city it transformed.
On October 3, artists, residents, and visitors gathered at Acrisure Amphitheater for the ArtPrize Awards Celebration, bringing the juried and public-vote competition to a close and celebrating the artists who filled Grand Rapids with creativity throughout the event. ArtPrize ran September 18 through October 3, with more than 1,000 entries by 1,300+ artists appearing throughout the city. ArtPrize
And then the evening became something bigger.
Fashion took over the runway with couture from RC Caylan Atelier, accompanied by live ballet, symphony and opera—multiple forms of art coming together in one place. The celebration also included an official attempt to break the Guinness World Records title for largest attendance at a fashion show and culminated with a drone show over the venue. That feels pretty Grand Rapids to us.
Because ArtPrize has never been only about what hangs on a wall.
It’s about the artists, designers, musicians, dancers, organizers, businesses, venues, and people who show up and turn an entire city into an experience.
Those are the people who make West Michigan cool.
For visitors, ArtPrize offers a chance to see Grand Rapids differently—walking its neighborhoods, discovering local restaurants and businesses, meeting artists and experiencing public spaces in completely unexpected ways.
And for those of us who live here?
It’s a reminder of what we get to call home.
