How Heather Zinn & The Cheese Lady Are Spreading Joy—One Wedge at a Time
There’s something about good cheese that brings people together—and no one knows that better than Heather Zinn, owner of The Cheese Lady Grand Rapids.
What began over 20 years ago as one woman’s dream at the Muskegon Farmers Market has grown into eight woman-owned Cheese Lady stores across West Michigan, each one dedicated to sharing the magic of cheese, conversation, and community. Heather’s Grand Rapids shop offers over 220 varieties of cheese, custom charcuterie boards, and hand-picked Michigan-made goodies that make every visit feel like a treat.
But The Cheese Lady is about more than brie and boards—it’s about connection. “People are just in a good mood when they walk in,” Heather says. “We talk cheese, we laugh, and we make sure everyone feels welcome.”
This November, The Cheese Lady Grand Rapids will host its Holiday Open House on November 15 (9AM–4PM)—a perfect chance to sample seasonal favorites, sip local wine, and get inspired for your holiday table or gift baskets.
Whether you’re a cheese connoisseur or just here for the gouda vibes, The Cheese Lady is one of the many places that make West Michigan so deliciously cool.
