How Jolana Manino is Bringing Authentic Italian Cuisine and Community Spirit to the Uptown area of Grand Rapids
Forget everything you thought you knew about Midwestern dining. West Michigan is a cultural kaleidoscope, and Testa Rossa Italian Ristorante in Grand Rapids is its sparkling centerpiece. Led by Jolana Manino, this isn't just a restaurant—it's a testament to the region's transformative energy.
Nestled in the Fulton Street neighborhood, an area that's part Haight-Ashbury, part Ann Arbor, and part professional haven, Testa Rossa represents the area's remarkable progress. Just a decade ago, this street didn't even have a coffee shop. Now, it's a vibrant corridor of innovation, diversity, and culinary creativity.
Jolana's restaurant offers more than authentic Italian cuisine. It's a three-room experience with a speakeasy-style Wolves Den full service bar, live music, and a commitment to inclusivity that mirrors West Michigan itself. Vegan? Gluten-free? Meat lover? Everyone finds a home here.
The restaurant is part of a larger story—West Michigan's refinement and expansion of the home grown culinary scene . A place where professional opportunity meets artistic spirit, where community matters, and where unexpected cultural experiences await around every corner.
For those seeking a region that defies stereotypes, West Michigan isn't just a destination—it's a revelation. Check out the four Uptown neighborhoods of Wealth Street, East Hills, Fulton Street and Eastown.
